I needed to compress the rear springs to get them in and out, I wasn't able to do it without compressing the springs. I went from a tire size of 265/60R18 to a 275/65R18. Also, make sure you have a good set of metric ratcheting-wrenches, and both deep and short socket sets. I originally went with the RRO as it was the only option. I want to note that since you have increased the standard ride height to a level comparable to Off-road 1 Mode, the Off-Road 1 Mode in your Grand Cherokee is now at a comparable level to Off-road 2 mode before the install. I'm currently waiting for the rough country leveling kit to come into the shop! I have the RRO kit installed and can say the fit and finish and fitment is top notch. Passenger side front I was able to install the spacer without even removing the strut assembly at all - I just disconnected the top and bottom, and was able to put the spacer up there and screw it together in place. Although I only tried to fit 265/60R18s which are 32 inches in diameter you could fit even larger tires. I read a few reviews where folks were missing nuts/bolts etc from RRO when they ordered stuff so that's what started me looking elsewhere. How did the 275/65/18 K02's fit for you before the lift? If any of you guys have either kits and wanna post some side view pics of your rides that'd be awesome! So it was a pleasant surprise that I was able to make it work. I had RRO install their 2-1/2 front/1" back level/lift and I love it, perfectly leveled my WK2 out and gave me a ton more clearance up front, along with a better approach angle. They're Goodyear Duratracs, and these are 275/65/18. Additionally, if you want to get a leveling kit or a lowering kit, they offer Airlinks that do just that. Then the front Passenger side I did last, and took me about 3 hours. What do you mean by worth? Certain aspects of the install are pretty much impossible for one person to do alone. today I almost purchased new tires until I started to sign up on Facebook Jeep forums and came across someone telling me to purchase airlinks.
How did this adjustment affect gas mileage? Seems it should go down as you both increased tire size and drive at a higher ride height/less aerodynamic position. I was able to bolt it back on after everything else was done. I have 275-55-R20 Cooper AT3s currently and thats big enough for this Jeep. Installation was straightforward and easy. With the wider tire I'd have to get a thinner diameter-matching spare to have any hope of it fitting in the spare well. You can use a wrench to just pop off the links being careful to not break any of the attached components. That has always meant something to me but is an entirely diffrent discussion. It took a little bit of work to snap them onto the suspensions but, overall, it is a very easy instillation. I would say it probably took me 15-20 hours of work, but a lot of that was time spent figuring out how to do certain things, and/or correcting mistakes that I made. If you look online and see pics of the RRO kit compared to the rough country you will see how much more robust the build quality is. The Rocky Road WK2 leveling kit brings the front of your Jeep up 1.75 inches for a proper level looking stance really how Jeep should have had the vehicle sitting right from the factory. Or perhaps if you have added a heavy front bumper system. You get what you pay for. If that's the case, how did they manage to sell you a kit that's ~27.2% short on height? Rocky Road kits are proudly MADE IN THE USA!!!
Quadratec, Inc, has no affiliation with FCA. Installation of the other leveling kits requires disassembly of the strut which means specialized equipment. Just looking over the pics from the Amazon site I can see that it may be metal but looks much cheaper in quality compared to the RRO plus the RRO kit has the optional 1" rear spacers to bring up the rear as well. Note: Rocky Road lift kits are currently THE ONLY (non spring) lift kit NOT made in China. Run Larger Wheels and Tires: With this kit, you will be able to fit 32x10.50 tires on your Jeep Grand Cherokee. It allowed me to get 275/55 R20 Continental TerrainContacts on with 0 rubbing. If you are paying a shop to install your lift, this can easily save $1-200 in your total bill, and those kits also make it impossible to install at home without specialized strut machines. At this point I needed a fix, as I could not drive my car around without damaging it. I like to lower the vehicle to make it easier for the family to get in and out.
