Its still a favorite for me and I will alway repurchase. Not unpleasant at all. i bought this after reading the good reviews god i was so dissapointed in this i literally gave me an headache this smells gross.. sorry to say that i really hate this one since it was a gift giving wth great expectations, its a bit smoky unpleasant scent that last on me for a quite long time, which it would be nice if it didnt smell terrible.. My love for this perfume started in the early 2000s as a child. Awful . I do get a pleasantly sour apricot, but thankfully none of that residual, polluted feeling I can get with peach on a drydown. She gets compliments from EVERYONE! I smell mostly roses and peach in this one.
It gives me a lit bit of a lipstick smell, i think might be the violet fault. Still, I can see where a younger woman, who has grown up with lighter, even unisex scents, would find this a stinker. I think perhaps these opinions may have been formed by the cute, red bottle. I do not perceive any of of the notes clearly, to me it's just a synthetically cloying smell mixed with rotten alcohol-soaked fruit. To each, their nose, though. Two years ago I found Red Jeans on discount so I bought it for old times sake. It is really quite lovely and I could become quite fond of it. But this. this is almost rotting with synthetic dribbling peaches. Red Jeans has a bit of sweet and sour; it's fresh, fruity and floral. What a lovely peach note in the top , I love it! I don't know if my mom used to wear it or if it smells like something in Germany or Italy, but it brings up memories of being there. Red Jeans is simple and feminine. You can get it at cheaper price now and it lasts all day. I've had a bottle of this for years and used to really dislike it. Please read the Terms of Service and Privacy policy. Instantly I was transported to 1994, and just felt a whole 90s vibe. It's a good bedtime scent. I can't put my finger on it, but this one smells and feels dated on me. I loved it back then. The worst offering from Versace. I received this perfume as a present when I was a young teenager! It was just overly cloying and sweet and kinda stinky to me, but I do love the bottle and packaging of the entire Versace Jeans line. Perfect for t-shirt and jeans or for tomboyish looks, which happened to be my style during my teenage. Not my favorite, when I wear it for too long its headache inducing. I bought it expecting it to be a good formulation because my partner uses the blue one and I really like it on him. Too synthetic and made my nose tickle. Beautiful scent, shocked so many poor reviews. I used it quite a lot a few years ago, trying to convince myself that I liked it because the packaging and bottle are absolutely gorgeous. I disagree that it is a vintage scent. I wear this to my retail job when I want customers to stay away from me works like a charm!
Great for those days youre running late or just not in the mood to take time and search for a fragrance that suits your outfit or mood. So I bought it and when it came today I couldnt open that Amazon box fast enough. I guess that's the power of perfume! This way, it irritates me to the lesser degree. I bought it at a discount price so no regrets.
Truly I am just. disturbed by its designer label. There is a common note in it that I also find in Crystal Noir that I can't get over. i prefer the blue jeans although it is for men it is very fresh and vivid! It was a random combo,,but blew everyone away. I love it. I like peach in perfumes but Red Jeans is too synthetic.
And there's something light about the scent overall, even though I can definitely see it being a headache trigger for some. Definitely a classic and not expensive. I am delighted I did. It smells like public bathroom spray. Very fruity and synthetic. When I tested Red Jeans, I got something very familiar that was popular in early 00's. Perfect for a 14-17 year old girl. It's 90's vibe, I was born in the Orwellian year 84. I'll write a second review sometime soon. Just bought this today! Will always be in my fragrance collection. It was one of my worst. It is a little synthetic, but that's not always a bad thing. its definitely a sweet fruity first spray and the soft powdery note blooms open immediately. But about an hour later those violets came out to play- it reminded me of these candied violet pastilles my grandma would have. The only thing with Versace perfumes I noticed is that they can go off if you keep them for very long.
But I can't. Who the flying fuck at versace gave the green light on this? Kudos to them because it almost made me nauseous - I had to scrub it before it got to the drydown- and it made my husband break out in hysterical laughter at how bad it was on me. Yes, a sexy hooker and I like it! Sometimes I would see them around drugstore or grocery store and I check them out, brings back memory but not enough to get them. And I ain't mad!! If I were the Versace CEO I'd be embarrassed to have the Versace name attached to something so low quality; the plastic lid also adds to the overall cheap vibe of the whole thing. At first i hated it, but it has grown on me. I get a decidedly harsh aqua net note the entire timeaqua net and peach kool aid mixed with flowers. It's also a very unique and immediately distinguishable scent, which is probably why anybody who remembers the 90's is filled with nostalgia over it. Red Jeans was on my want list and boy did I want it. Try it, you just might like it! All I can say is "yuck"!
It is definitely summery, and definitely a day time fragrance, but cloyingly sweet for my taste. I bought this not really knowing what to expect. The bottle is brand new and I don't want to throw it away. I wasn't sure if it had gone off, but after reading everyone else's reviews, I think it's just a bad perfume.
I actually found a bottle of it - someone obviously agreed with my feelings and had left their bottle outside on their fence with a sign that said 'free'.
I understand that this one is a classictht many of the you lived with it.it was a part of your nostalgiabut come on.im sorry but i despise the scenttoo strong too cloying.something's got to be wrong with this composition..it may be appelaing for those who grew up with this..but for the younger genits another pass from me.psits weird but i like the blue jean though. it brings back a lot of unforgettable memories including my 18th birthday and lots of debut parties i attended. One man described it as a calm floral aroma.
I dont know why I notice a very strong rose note in here. This smell is very different. This *is* 1994 to my nose. Someone wrote that its like fruity shampoo and I agree, but there are other layers in this, too.
Too floral and sharp for my taste.
I wasn't a fan then, and am not a fan now.
I read bad review after bad review after bad review of this fragrance but I bought it anyway thinking, "maybe on *my* skin with *my* chemistry it'll smell good". It smells soooo niceclean, freshI'm looking around the kitchen, trying to locate the source of the scentthen realize it's me, it's this perfume. It's a watered down, fruity fragrance. It's just as bad as they said it was. But I love it! Iconic scent & bottle! I have learned to smell perfumes myself and not to depend on these reviews for purchasing.
I always wanted to use it. Firstly, I love the packaging! Three sprays or more gives me a headache. smells like baby powder. Smells very clean , fresh, mix of light apricot and roses .I like this scent so much I found a dollar tree dupe of it called Red Wear , just for nostalgia .. Love it, I think Red Jeans is not everybody's cup of tea. I know that it is a 90' child, since this was one of my first perfumes I got as a teen. I wanted to have this in my collection so badly that I was going to try to ignore the scent. I prefer sweet perfumes and for me this one its not, the scent is overpowdering in some way, but its not bad. I don't like it all. Avoid it. It reminds me getting dressed cute and leaving the house during sunset and smelling flowers in the summer air by walking away. I bought this on a whim and in all honesty, It just smells like generic baby wipes. Off-White Paperwork: A Quartet of Contrasts, Close Your Eyes, Relax, Breathe and Envision a Blue Light, Cacao In The Sun by Maison Tahit: Dipped Strawberries, WPC 2022 - Discovering Asafoetida with Galbanum Oil From Iran, A Brand New Victoria's Secret Fragrance: Bare, Givenchy Gentleman Eau de Parfum Reserve Prive, Red Jeans Versus by Versace EDT Spra (. Nice scent. A lady in the office wears this and OMG she lights up the whole damn floor and she leaves gorgeous scent trails!
@ paperghost , you sound very snobby , if my s daughter had bought me this , i would not belittle her immaturity in fragrances on here only to then bolster my own self procclaimed perfume expertise. I got it for $18 at TJ Maxx and think it's good for the price, if I paid a lot for this I'd be mad but for under $20 I am satisfied. It's a bit more floral now, kind of fruity and it has a scent of berries. While I smell the fruit, it is equally, if not moreso, met with a harsh floral that overpowers. This to me is a floral slightly fruity, soapy laundry detergent scent. Guys liked it very much, I remember. It's so unique..
I bought it during my first trip to Italy when I was 10 years old. There are better fragrances with the same vibe, but this one smells just too chemical.
Somehow it manages to have balls to the walls crazy intense level sillage and longevity. There was almost a powdery waxy lipstick note that I love smelling. I loved the bottle design but the scent was pretty forgettable. And this one doesnt belong to them. I should have just trusted all the bad reviews. At least that was how I viewed it as a teen.
I wouldn't suggest it for teens. I had a bottle of this years ago. I no longer have this in my wardrobe, but it still has a special place in my heart. Guys, give it a shot if you dare Marissa Zappas Announces A New Collection + A Giveaway! Nothing else. I wanted to enjoy it, but it is not for me. The bottle is brand new and I tried it twice. It's nice enough, but nothing special to me anymore. So whenever I sniff it, I remember my mom. FINALLY, a perfume I really love. I love both peachy sweet and sandal notes. There is such an optimistic vibe in this very fruity liquid that I am struggling to recall equally "happy", cheerful fragrance(perhaps Chopard's Happy Spirit Magical Nights comes close enough).
I saved a little decant of this for a trip down memory lane, but on my skin it's just too screechy to do more than just sniff (not wear). I thought there would also be raspberry in the notes, but it's just rose combined with the fruitiness of peach and black currant. I've had this bottle for about 3 years and the more I wear it the more I hate it. You gotta give it time to dry down. I just purchased this one, and this was a blind buy. + I used up this perfume in about three months - a record for me.
In other words, this perfume may be old lady-like :P, The first time I was wearing it,it was during the day ofcourse and as I walked ,some girls turned around and started questioning "whitch flower is smell so beautifuly" It was funny to me cause I wasnt aware of how strong it was.
it's a fresh scent of peach and roses, perfect for fall. And I love the name of it too. About 10 years ago, I couldn't stand this perfume. I enjoy it for it's nostalgia, though.
At first I didn't know what to think. When I first smelled this perfume, I will admit I thought it was far too overpowering and too mature for me.
It was the second fragrance I ever bought with my own money, in 1995. Anyway, it just fades away in 10-15 minutes and it starts to develop into a less childish and more subtle, womanly perfume. Exploring the Versace Jeans rainbow, I am now up to the notorious Red Jeans in its original formula from Giver, not Versus that seems to get so many bad reviews. Classic, beautiful fruity floral. Red Jeans Perfume is an american classic. It is very powerful smell, strong, fresh, bright and a bit flirty. A very unpleasant experience. Keeping that on my vanity, but the jus won't get on my skin or clothes anytime soon. It's acid overpowering pesticide! This fragrance is timeless, ageless, inoffensive. Also very synthetic and gives me a headache. Its a very ok scent. The next turns, however, are not that much of a good scent experience. In theory it has a great mixture of notes. This is way, way WAY too sweet for me. Just got this yesterday, this is youthful yet suitable for any age. There are white florals too. A single spritz and im running for the hills! Its very much a synthetic fruity scent and for some reason it reminds me of rotting fruits. Perfumes: 73,873 Does the Versus bottle smell like the Versace bottle probably. I really like how this smells its soft summer mornings, cherries, playful kisses, honey with tea its very light. I was after inexpensive daily summer scent. I had forgotten about this fragrance until a few days ago when I found it at a clearance sale. I loved this scent. Don't like this at all, tried to wear it a few times and had to scrub it off every time. Too strong for me, I was expecting a softer scent according to the peach, apricot, sandalwood notes. Or maybe there really are people out there who smell good in this. I think this is a good layering perfume- wearing it with other fruity floral scents really steps it up a little. On me it is very fruity and full of peaches, but the overall impression is far from peachy shampoo.
But it was a nice scent very safe, blended well nothing overpowering. Maybe it's partly because of sentimental reasons. I love this perfume!
I'm afraid that I'm one of those who do not like this fragrance at all. I always keep a stash of this. This perfume was given to me as a gift. Every now and then I wear something really outrageous for my gender, age, image, profession, etc. :).
The dry down seems powdery and there is nothing wonderful about the scent. I usually spray it at home or after the gym, which happens on daily basis. It is a floral fruit sweet which I like, almost balsamic. It goes on beautifully and I get all that beautiful currant, but then "bam" there comes a wonky scent that I just can't lay a finger on. Its overwhelming and way too saccharine, I can't smell a thing over that peach, its harsh and cloying. It is very feminine, it has a strong peach opening then dries down to a musky powdery floral. This is a strong fragrance but not sickening. Mixes amazingly well w/ Chanel Cristalle eau Vert. For me it's one of the worst frag i've ever tried, you can easily have headache, 100% sugar in sugar, hit in your nose, no excuses.
I also bought this for my daughter as her first real perfume as a freshman in high school. *Shudders*.
However, for me nothing catchy and special. By the way red is a very appropriate colour for this one. At first sniff one smelt more like apples & one smelt more like honeysuckle but now I can't tell them apart just that they are different. It smells stifling and old. I couldnt stop sniffing my arm. It is sweet but buffered by a powdery, woody breeze. Memories of my denim days flashed back as it stays on my skin thru the night. I mostly get violet and powder on the dry down(10 minutes after spraying) I prefer the first 10 minutes of this fragrance as its very fruity. I get freesia quite clearly, and definitely the fruity scent of the peach-apricot accord. This was purchased for me as a gift by my in laws, when I had requested Baby Rose Jeans. Ive had this perfume since secondary school, always being told I smelt amazing. This perfume smells like when you wash your hair with a strongly scented, fruity-floral shampoo, and the wind dries them. I vividly remember how feminine, and beautiful this smelled on the women in my life. I am surprised how much I like it since I usually prefer less "sticky" sweetness. Epicene Gamma IFF: The Common Part of Spicy Men's Colognes of the 1980s? This perfume smells like on of those disinfectant wipes we use in hospital to clean medical equipments. But any women of any age can appreciate the great container and beautiful color of the perfume--the bottle and container are kitchsy, fun, distinctive--real "Yippe ki yo ki yea, m--f--." Fact.
This is a 90s classic, but very accessible for the modern nose. I knew that some day as an adult Id own a bottle of my own. The peach give juicyness, what can you need in a hot day if not a drink to appease. A friend was wearing it, & I stalked her til I found out what it was..lol. For now, I am blissfully happy.
I seem to be getting lucky finding free perfumes lately in London! I just don't find it interesting enough. I wear it only occasionally but I keep it in my fragrance wardrobe when I want to remember Paris in 1994. Love it;girly smell;long lasting;but I only buy it now on internet;it's not avaible in stores. I tried really hard. I still have that (empty) bottle and its tin reads "GIANNI VERSACE - RED JEANS". I think the addition of freesia and waterlily give the floral notes a beautiful fresh edge. I could not figure out what I was actually smelling. So I actually blind bought this one, it is very popular with women around my age (Im 23) and I have actually had quite a few people recommend it to me. Online right now: 2,911, Fragrantica in your language: Great choice for teenage girls.
It's a very heavy scent on me, and it doesn't fade all that easily either.
Overall i like it because its a eau de toillette that stays with you all day and its different then citrusy or aquatics summer scents i know. Red Jeans was one of the first perfumes I bought for myself back in the early 2000s and was my signature for years. Ugh, guess Versace and me are not meant to be. i agree with the bad comments upon initial sniff but on the skin it's pretty. The dry down, hours later, is tolerable with a light peach, powder smell. It can be a very nice everyday scent. Red Jeans is a pleasant enough fruity-floral.
It smells like floral clean laundry and Im usually not a fresh detergent scent person but because this has that very prominent rose floral scent its pretty. This perfume was very special in the mid-90's. Top notes are peach, apricot, freesia, blackcurrant. In the heart note, lily-of-the-valley, violet, water lily and rose.
The packaging is cute, it seems like a classic, it came out the year I was born so I feel like I should own it for strange sentimental purposes. At the moment you can get the perfume really cheap. Wouldn't mind using it every day.
I can still smell it on me the next day. Burned my nose.
I got this when I was 20, my boyfriend at the time swore Blue Jeans was his favourite scent to wear and I wanted us to match. Its a gorgeous bottle and packaging but the monster within isn't worth the money. Yes, this is making a comeback due to its resemblance to Guerlain rosa pop.
I tried this on today and did not really like itit's ok, but nothing special and I wanted to wear something with a little more personalityso I thought I'll change it when I get to the house, I'll scrub it offran some errandsa couple of hours later I get home, open the cabinet to get a glass for some water and stop.what is that smell? Actually i can understand why people find it very artificial because strong smell of peach and apricot seems kinda same to me though but i was never fond of peachy smells, it may be different for the ones whom like it. Opens with a very sharp and crisp peach and apricot (that I can completely understand being overpowering and headache inducing on some) then mellows out some as the freesia, violet and lily of the valley kick in. :). Very loud, synthetic, and chemical.
I honestly don't fully understand the hate this perfume gets! this should be called violet jeans because violets are where the sweetness comes fromthis is mainly a rose and violet scent outside of the initial spray which lasts a good 20 minutesi never get to the base notes of sandalwood, musk, and vanilla it seems to stay at the mid notes for hours until fadei really like this a lot but not too pleased with the first 20 minutes but the dry down is worth it. I really don't like this scent. It opens for me with cherry (not a listed note), rather than peach or apricot, but it is a jammy delight. It's a little powdery, but not in a smothering way. I have a good first impression of it so far and its pretty nice but I've only been wearing it for about two hoursso let's see if the lasting power is just as impressive. I'm glad other people like this one.
Smells so strong at first, but mellows out and stays on my skin the longest of any perfume I've had. It is not that I completely dislike it but it was never a favorite of mine; it reminds me of sugary water. A pleasant powdery fruity floral. I don't even wan't to think of the smell. Everytime I put it on I get headaches. I blind bought this one based on a YouTuber review and I dont regret. This perfume reminds me summer nights that you walk around in shorts with a tan skin, eat ice cream and meet with yout boyfriend. Cheap, but not worth the disappointment. Red Jeans was launched in 1994. This is a hard return for me.
Its a no fuss, pretty, simple scent that I can wear with a dress, or jeans. The result of this mixture is almost similar to the original "Pleasures", maybe somewhat stronger-less peppery, but very nice to wear. I only have that one bottle - but if I see another Ill definitely grab it. 6/2018 - I regret blind buying this from Amazon, after watching YouTube reviews regarding this as a great warmer-weather, compliment-garnering fragrance. On a side note, bees are very attracted to this fragrance and one spring day I had to make a run to the indoors because I was getting chased by them :), so wear with caution. This is one of my first fragrance purchases. . But I just can't seem to like it.
It doesn't smell dated like its male counterpart, but you can definitely know it is a 90s scent due to its heavy quality. However in practical it is overwhelming for me. Also the tin can it comes in is unique and pretty. This is my everyday wear from now. While Tresor, Tuscany Per Donna, and Champs Elises were shouting Red Jeans was speaking coyly in hushed tones. That's why it smells so bad. Lasts about four hours before becoming a skin scent.
I also love the packing. I never even got it on my skin because I disliked it so much. I can see this my new fragrance being used very frequently. i'm almost out.
It was the most hideous bottle I had ever seen. It smells very synthetic and kind of strong. This peach is somewhere in between the usual big overripe peaches that you find in many 90s perfumes and the clean peach shampoo note that is often used today. It smelled really familar to me and immediately brought up memories of when I was a little girl and lived in Europe. Love perfumes with vanilla in them. I bought this on a whim.trusting the name Versace AND SINCE iT was in a pink bottle I was hoping for something rosy. It smells sweet¬ well blended, fruit, vanilla, somewhat almost fresh,a combination of floral fruit,it's not the worst, not the best, however I lIke the vintage feel&design of the bottle and the cute can!.
If you don't care what you wearing, this is a good one and most of the time a good deal. Something random made me reach into my frag fridge and spray Versace Red Jeans. Softens and gets a bit better on skin with time but still, it's a clear no for me! My husband gave me this perfume for my birthday. Its so sad because my husband had the male version of it and I absolutely loved smelling this on him. Very fresh, a bit sweet, totally approachable. Ive recieved it as a present so I have used to use it at home or simply for casual daily situations. I don't know how someone is able to smell anything than tropical thick fruit and clean musk. Even though some might see it as tacky, I kind of like the packaging, to me it is very 90's and very Versace. Its youthful, flirty and casual. There are times when this gives me trouble breathing. It's not the same.
Not bas but not good at all. It dries down to green notes and Lily of the valley reminding me of a very soft Eternity.
I found it for 10 pounds and it is indeed a bargain beauty. It's dry down smells good.
I love it,specialy in the spring! Sweet and soft, not special or the best they have but I think it's a daily wearable perfume. Versace red jeans I'm not sure on this one,I like it as maybe only a casual stay at home perfume. I love this scent. Lasts very long. Of course the scents I love fade into oblivion after an hour or two, but this one is bloody immortal. !Long lasting and exotic!Like it!!!!! I don't really wear it these days but it will always feel like an easy reach for me. I made pencil drawings in my room, I sprayed this on most of my friends and the furniture around me was made out of oakwood. The Peach+Apricot+Violet combo is a death warrant for me. I used to love it, but I remember the scent quite different from what it smells like now. Versace Red Jeans is a fragrance that i'll always come back to. I tried to make silly justifications for keeping it. To me, its openning aside it s a playful but womenly scent, it d be easily worn by a grown woman, as it d be suitable for a teenage girl. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean-Pierre Bethouart. This one smells like the 90's to me.. I would wear this one for casual days and going to church or doing errands or any time feeling reminiscent and relaxing. So being described as harsh, laud, synthetic, arrogant and screeching as well as soft, feminine, sweet, girly, pretty, gentle, rosy, babyand again seen as anything from boring and generic to sexy and even horny and more. Think there might be too much sandalwood in this. Umema: The Perfume That'll Never Be Smelled. I wish it was softer when first applying aswell as its a bit too in your face. Ick!!! Now I'm loving it! I expected something better something like the male version ( blue jeans) but unfortunately this smells so chemical and annoying.
If you are on a budget, this perfume is perfect choice for work or party. Red Jeans by Versace is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. I love the bottle that delicate floral design that frames the perfume's name is gorgeous. I didnt like this one, unlike the others. This fragrance sits very close to my skin, and is hard for others to detect. I'm just not the type who readily finishes a large bottle of perfume, I usually switch my preferences around too often, I guess. Overall I think its just very big on smelling like leather and roses. One or two sprays lasts the whole day on me and gives a lovely scent. It's sweet, but it's got like this bitter smell which I like even though that doesn't sound good lol. In its day this was the perfect summer holiday/weekend getaway fragrance that was meant for fun! Horrible! it's like first love.. something that i won't forget.. it is sweet and strong and cheap but good enough for the price.
i also remember my first college crush. The formula never changed. Powdery but its fresh and not overwhelming. I do remember it smelt wonderfully back then, fruity (red fruits), fresh and lovely. I'm gonna start wearing this again. I dont think I would use this fragrance for anything other than just a casual throw on fragrance to smell CLEAN.
When I smell it the first time I didn't like it but after one hour the fragance was very nice and not strog..and My husband loves the fragance. You can easily notice its powdery and musky structure when main notes start to hit surface and perfume stays like that literally for hours. This smells almost identical to the original Miss Dior Cherie to me. I don't know why these specific memories came to my mind. It just worked on me.
I've always gotten compliments on the way I smell but since I started wearing this people have gone crazy with comments about it; "God, you smell so good," "Wow! They can have it. It suits any season. For some really odd reason - the violet stands out the most to me. Some people say it intoxicates them, however, I love the scent very much. Reminds me of baby powder mixed with grapefruit juice. Red Jeans was the soundtrack of my teen years. The original formula is a playful, joyous fruity floral that has nothing to offend in this warm weather friendly beauty. You smell amazing" etc. I am pretty disappointed in Versace for the first time! Its a little bit sweet and pure smell.
I think I would like this more if the Freesia was a heart note. It's sweet, musky, flowery(jasmine&freesia), synthetic/plastic smelling, but the overall combination is very nice and you only need one or two sprays. It may just be that I have a bad taste, but for me this smells really joyful, this is one of my favorite summer scents, I use a bottle of every summer.
