The Blackops Rallybird is absolutely solid in wind packed off piste, and is super playful in powder snow. At your friends 54 height, we would normally size her to a to a 161 cm length ski. Its tail rocker line isnt super deep and the tip of the ski is fairly stiff, which meant it required more effort on my part to initiate each turn. For the rest of us, this new iteration just bummed us out that our favorite ski has such a poor replacement. Not only is this ski expensive, but it isn't versatile as an all-mountain ski, nor does it even excel as a powder ski. Eric Freson noted in his Blackops Sender Ti review that the skis have a tendency to find themselves in the middle of the snowpack, and Id agree. Ok, so maybe not the best, but you certainly could be a contendah, kid. It is easier to initiate turns, but on the flip side, it isnt as damp, it doesnt hold its edge quite as well, and overall, it doesnt feel as comfortable charging down the mountain at high speeds. Rossignol has used an "extended core" in the Black Ops Rallybird Ti, which might account for the ski's stability extending to the tip, unlike many of its competitors.
