All in all though, if you stay over its shovels, the Rallybird Ti can be skied quite hard in choppy conditions. The non-Ti version feels like it wants to complete the turn for you and it feels more intuitive, especially on groomers. To me, the Rallybird Ti doesnt feel like it produces a lot of energy when finishing each turn, which was fine, especially since skis that do create a lot of pop at the end of the turn tend to put me in the backseat for a split second.

The Blackops Rallybird is absolutely solid in wind packed off piste, and is super playful in powder snow. At your friends 54 height, we would normally size her to a to a 161 cm length ski. Its tail rocker line isnt super deep and the tip of the ski is fairly stiff, which meant it required more effort on my part to initiate each turn. For the rest of us, this new iteration just bummed us out that our favorite ski has such a poor replacement. Not only is this ski expensive, but it isn't versatile as an all-mountain ski, nor does it even excel as a powder ski. Eric Freson noted in his Blackops Sender Ti review that the skis have a tendency to find themselves in the middle of the snowpack, and Id agree. Ok, so maybe not the best, but you certainly could be a contendah, kid. The Rallybird Tis shape and rocker profile are essentially identical to the standard Rallybird, and the two look very similar to the Blackops Sender Ti and Sender. Finding the proper length ski pole is important as ski poles too long will actually shift your center of balance to behind you, and a pole that's too short will put it in front of you.
The sidecut dimensions and stated sidecut radii are the same for both skis and our measured tip-to-tail lengths are within 0.1 cm of each other, even though they are listed as being 170 and 171 cm lengths. I do want to note that nothing in their description mentions beginners getting along with the ski. Youre likely still pretty cautious in regards to your speed, but are able to stop on demand and have a bit more confidence that youll make it to the bottom in one piece. In soft chop (chewed-up from fresh snow), if Im not weighting the Rallybird from a forward, aggressive stance, its tips will chatter a bit.
It is easier to initiate turns, but on the flip side, it isnt as damp, it doesnt hold its edge quite as well, and overall, it doesnt feel as comfortable charging down the mountain at high speeds. I started skiing again last year and I am pretty confident on most blue runs. This is the number that our ski techs will use to mount your bindings.
If youve looked all over and still cant find your BSL, its also acceptable to measure along the bottom of the boot from the very tip of the toe, to back of the heel- just make sure you measure in Millimeters! Even with all the similarities in outward appearance, the skis do perform differently.

Rossignol's new Blackops line is set to compete with some of the more established companies and models out there. It can be a little reluctant to change edge quickly, which is to be expected in a mid-fat ski, but long, laid-out turns are solid both on and off piste. Rossignol has used an "extended core" in the Black Ops Rallybird Ti, which might account for the ski's stability extending to the tip, unlike many of its competitors.
